Canaan is the promised land that God promised to the Israelites. It’s a metaphor not only for salvation here on earth, but also for the Great Promised Land of heaven. It’s what Revelation is talking about when it says “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev. 21:4) That’s what’s so great about Canaan. And in the meantime I’m trying to live out the life of the sojourner, and trying to help those who happen upon my path along the way.
